Casey McLaughlin

I’m a believer of things happening for a reason. When I became a mom, I found myself constantly photographing my babies. My husband said to me one day, “You are so talented and artistic with photography, you should make it into a business.” He clearly noticed how passionate I am about photography.

This passion is certainly not a sudden whim. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Ohio Wesleyan University where I had my own dark room and worked for 4 years as a Photography Lab Assistant. I transitioned into digital photography when I attended culinary school after college, and worked in test kitchens in NYC and Boston doing food styling and photography.

I’m a natural light lifestyle family photographer. My style is all about capturing the sweet untold stories of everyday family life, moments and relationships between siblings, parents and families.

When not shooting, I enjoy spending time with my golfer husband Matt, daughter Lottie Mae, son Rhett, and our crazy Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Bunker, whose name is, fortunately, not a reflection of my husband’s golf aptitude. We live in Barrington, IL. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. I love skiing, running, music and golf. I’m a trained chef who loves to cook, entertain and eat as much as I love to style and photograph food. I drink black coffee, and you will always find good olive oil, milk chocolate and red wine in my kitchen. I’m a lover of polka dots and stripes, but not together, monograms, baseball hats and throw blankets.

Nothing makes me happier, however, than getting to see the joy on peoples faces when they see my work. I believe a photograph is the best gift. It’s a privilege for me to capture such special moments of your family, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you!
